Clip Art A World from the Pastor

September 2016 is here and the kids are all settled back in school, while the parents are still chasing the kids’ schedules and trying to catch up. Today many of us watch with anticipation, wondering how we ever made it through those years with such heavy demand that was put on the family’s time. Time is a precious commodity that all of us suffer with and from. It seems there is never enough to get all things done that we try to do. Several years ago, I found myself using priority to the time that I had been allotted. Whether you have noticed or not, each of us has an allotted time. Some more than others. In the beginning, those people lived a lot longer than we do today. I feel it’s because we try to fill our schedule so full that we use up our time way before it would run out otherwise. So in my allotment I purposed to place my worship time and my time in church at the very head of the list. I did this before I was ever called into the ministry. My attendance was never because of duty or that it was expected but because of the priority I established as a young person. Being in Church or being on a visit to the hospital or nursing home was never a duty but a privilege that had been extended to me. Many was the time I parked the tractor to go and pray for someone that was suffering. Those were choice times that I have never regretted. For several years I ran a dairy farm for a living. That farm was something that demanded my attention and time. One day I said “That’s enough.” I began making plans to close down the operation. It had robbed me of so much time that I couldn’t wait for the sale to roll around. Don’t let anyone or anything steal your time. They will do it and never apologize. Remember, you have only so much time. It’s eternally important to put the Lord at the head of the list! He will reward you greatly for your effort! Our time came from the Lord, and we are responsible for what we do with it. Join us in Worship this month,

Your Pastors,

Rev. Richard and Rosie Deckard

Rita’s Review

I’ve been thinking lately about how people live from day to day. There are those who desire to attain few belongings; and then there are those who seem to As I sit here, the tornado sirens are going off,

yet the sun is shining. How bizarre is the weather these days? I have the radio on, listening to learn the location of the latest tornado siting, yet knowing where I am right now, if a tornado dropped out of the

sky in my area, I’d probably be hurt for there’s no basement or good storm shelter. Of course I’m sitting here thinking, why don’t we have a good and safe storm shelter to go to if a tornado hit while at

work? Naturally I called the family to make sure they were in the basement and safe should anything happen. But why didn’t I take cover for myself???? You know, many people, if they would

think about it, are being just as dilatory about their soul. The End Time’s prophesy siren is sounding. The ministers and authors are warning of disasters and . happenings that will occur before Christ’s

return, yet you watch people go about their business as if they will live to see another day. They may even make the time to take their loved ones to the House of God, yet not stay and learn or worship

themselves. How sad to think of those who believe preparing for eternity is all right for someone else, but not for them. When it comes to Eternity, we ALL need to consider ourselves AND others.

There IS a Heaven to gain and a Hell to shun. Please, before another day ends, prepare for eternity where God is your host. Tomorrow may be too late. -rita
