August 2017, Recently we took a four- day trip to the Wisconsin Dells. After viewing the lakes and rivers, we decided to take our third day and go to see what’s called “The House on the Rock”. Rosie was ecstatic with the architectural design with a house built on top of a seventy-foot self-supporting rock (that’s probably sixty foot in diameter). His construction started out with a basic one-room built in the cleft of the rock, but as he continued the project, he added thirteen more rooms. Being successful with that part, he added amazing museums off to the side of the house, plus a fabulous carousel with 20,000 lights. In addition there were over 200 animals, plus lots of back up horses to complete the display. Still
un-content, he built a window-hall that goes out into the clouds as a hall that goes forever. After his passing, his friend wrote a book entitled, “Never Enough”. He always needed more. While we see the unnecessary addiction of never being satisfied, we think on how the Bible teaches us to be content. I see a different slant; no, I don’t want to build a house on a rock. But wouldn’t it be wonderful as Christians if we got that kind of enthusiasm about reaching those who haven’t found the Lord as their savior? What a difference we could make in our world! One man who started with $12,000 of borrowed money has developed what is now worth millions! The carousel itself is worth $4.8 million dollars! With that kind of vision, we could each reach tens of thousands of souls for Christ. The house on the rock is great, but where is it going and how long will it last? If for 100 – 500 years, that would be short compared to lives we can reach for eternity. Things here are temporary, regardless what their construction bases is. But to bring a life unto God – now, that is eternal! o Lord, make us hungry to build for the kingdom of God. Let’s begin bringing people to Jesus in our church and watch it mushroom worldwide. You hold the key to its success. Start using that key today!
May God Bless You
Your Pastors,
Rev. Richard and Rosie Deckard

Rita’s Review

The schools will be back in session this month. Please pray for our students, teachers and administrators. Satan thinks he has won by removing prayer from the school, and the 10 Commandments from the halls. He has won ONLY if you allow him to remove faith, hope and love from your life. YOU still have the ability to read the Bible with your family. YOU still have the ability to WORSIDP freely. Education really begins at home anyway. Don’t leave something as important as your child’s spiritual future in the hands of people you do not know. “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6). “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” (Ephesians 6:12). This scripture was made very real to me last week as I read the local newspaper on July 10,2017. The headline read: Dressed to Chill: Drag queens to read to children at library. I couldn’t believe the community was so bold as to make this front page news. The article was written so that the public was more concerned that the books be “age appropriate” than they were with what was being pushed upon the children as “appropriate examples of acceptable lifestyles” for our children. For those people who were not fond of the drag queens reading to the children, they were told to find some other activity for their children to do during this reading hour. Folks, we need to pray for our community and for our country. God will not always be patient. We must pray for our children and those being preyed upon by satan’s representatives. If you do not have your children in Sunday School, or you are not teaching them God’s Word, you are allowing the world to have control of their hearts and minds. They will not know the difference between God’s Word and what is right or true, and will accept the devil’s lies as truth if you are not involved. Please get involved in your child’s spiritual education today! Support
Sunday School!
