February 2016

Clip Art A World from the Pastor

February 2016, As I have shared with you the last few weeks, God has impressed me that this is the year to renew our vision and to be more God-centered – to stretch out the tent stakes and to allow the Holy Spirit to be more alive in our lives than ever before. I am excited about what the Lord is doing and about what He has planned for this year. We are on the threshold of so many things that He has in store for the church (like plans for an additional new building, and Campmeeting 2016). I get excited about seeing what is on the horizon from the Lord! I know that the Lord is going to do great things if we will just open our hearts and allow Him to be the Lord of our lives. As you read this column, I ask for special prayer that the healing hand of God would sweep over my body and bring healing to my left eye. I am scheduled to be in the hospital soon for 4-5 days, but whatever happens, I know we will be in God’s hands. Daniel’s three friends found themselves in quite a dilemma as, they stood before a golden statue that towered 90 feet high. They had a decision to make. The orders were to bow down and worship this huge image when they heard the band play or to be thrown into a fire-burning furnace that was used to burn the trash and rubble of their day. The decision seemed a little unreal, but it was very real to those three boys. They made a decision to stand for God and to not bow to any image. They set their lives in God’s hands and determined to live for Him regardless. I too have made that a commitment; I will not allow the forces of this world or the things that come on the scene to detour my trust in the all-mighty God. I know without a shadow of a doubt that as I am in His hands, I am in good hands, and He will see me through this stage of life and we shall see victory once again.

God bless in 2016, Your Pastors,

Congratulations, you made it through January! We are now firmly planted in 2016. Plans are being made, dates are being filled in on the new calendar, and most people are looking forward to winter being over soon.

This has been a winter with very odd weather patterns. Just today I heard about the first hurricane of the year being formed. (That doesn’t usually happen until the summer months.) The scriptures says that in the Last Days, the seasons will be similar. They also say a lot of other things, for instance, people will cry “peace” while preparing for war. Friend, I would advise not to go on a sabbatical from God. In these days which we are experiencing, we must have a relationship with Jesus. We must seek His will for our lives and follow Him to the best of our ability. I know there is no one who is perfect; there is no one who deserves to

go to Heaven, but Jesus has paid the price for our salvation! He has made it possible for us to spend eternity with Him.

In February, commercialism promotes expressions of love. When it comes to God, do not wait for something to prompt you to express your love! At your first breath of the morning, or that last sigh at night, breathe your love to Jesus. Throughout each day let His praise be on your lips. Encourage one another to look to Christ for guidance and praise Him for the refuge He provides.
