January 2016

Clip Art A World from the Pastor

January 2016, The New Year brings with it a sense of excitement that yields a new thought and new beginnings. We store much of the previous days in our hearts and grasp the openings of a brand new year. Here at Highland Faith, as we begin the year with a time of prayer and decision making, we are ever challenged with the change that is going on in our world. Last year the Lord gave me a word for 2015: “healing in the wings”. Thank God we have seen major healings that have taken place. My Lord is the God that healeth thee! These last few days the Lord has been dealing with me about 2016. I sense a move of the Holy Spirit that is sweeping over Indiana. I certainly want to get in that stream as I feel the river rising around us, bringing total refreshing from on high. I also feel that nudging of the Holy Spirit to open new doors that the Lord is setting before his Church. The word for 2016 is “Vision”. Where there is no vision, the people perish. I pray that the Lord will open unto his people a clear vision for 2016 (not separate visions for that would only scatter the church’s direction). Through prayer we can launch a path that will bless and honor God. Through united effort we can move through our neighborhoods and introduce families and friends to a relationship with Jesus. The vision Jesus left the New Testament Church was one of receiving the gift of God and reaching out to all of Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the utmost parts of the world. Our vision must include our home town and community where we reside, and extend to all parts of our world. Our vision is in compliance to the call that God has placed upon my life, and the call that JESUS made when he said “He that is a thirst, come unto me and drink and out of his heart shall flow springs of living water.” Also the time when he said “Whosoever drinks of the water I give him shall never thirst again.” Let’s do what we can to share God’s love every day!

God bless in 2016, Your Pastors,

Rev. Richard and Rosie Deckard

Happy New Year Everyone! This is going to be a good year! I have to believe that! 2015 was not so bad (for me), and as I begin to fill in the calendar for January and February, I can already tell that it’s going to be every bit as busy.

As we start 2016, please remember to keep God the Central focus of your life. Your year will be so much more positive if you revolve around Him, than if He has to “fit in” to your life.

A few days ago, a member of the community died. He was not a famous man, but from the indications of the parking lot for his funeral, he was very well liked. Yet for some reason, life was not satisfying for this individual and he chose to leave us. There were family members who tried to share God’s love with him but it was not accepted. It’s so sad to think that five minutes after his decision, he could not change his mind. Unfortunately, today he is not alone. There are many who don’t know that life can be worthwhile; they are without hope of a “better tomorrow”. For those who know God, know the loving Father who seeks to have fellowship with mankind. His yoke is easy; His burden is light.

Please don’t keep God to yourself!

Share him with someone as often as you can in 20 16. Yom ministry might be the only one that reaches that individual who is seeking and hasn’t yet found the answer to a life that has hope and peace. And in today’s era of hopelessness, your ministry could bless others with the promise of life

everlasting!                             -rita
